Road Safety Commission
With support from the Road Safety Commission, Good Sammy established the DRIVE Program — an initiative designed to help Western Australians with disability prepare for their driver’s licence.
The program combines road safety education with practical experience. Participants take part in workshops to build the knowledge needed for a Learner’s Permit and then access driving lessons with qualified instructors. Over the course of 10 sessions, the program builds confidence, independence, and safe driving skills.
Impact highlight: A driver’s licence can open the door to a wider range of jobs. The DRIVE Program helps people with disability take this important step, creating new opportunities for employment and independence.
Through this partnership, Good Sammy is supporting people with disability to reach one of life’s key milestones — the freedom to drive — while also strengthening their future employment options and promoting safer roads for all.
Safer journeys start with all of us.
Good Sammy works to build confidence and create opportunities for safe, independent travel. Through our partnership with the Road Safety Commission, we’re sharing information that helps all Western Australians make safe choices on the road.
Safe driving is about awareness, preparation and respect for others. Whether you’re a new driver, a passenger or someone supporting a learner, every choice you make helps create safer roads for everyone.
The Road Safety Commission reminds us that simple actions like slowing down, planning ahead, staying focused and buckling up can prevent accidents and save lives.
No one plans a crash. But we can all plan to make every journey safe.
