Corporate volunteering (DRAFT)

Holy Rosary School Teachers at Good Sammy

A corporate volunteering day at Good Sammy gives your team more than just the chance to give back. It is a unique opportunity to experience how inclusion and sustainability work in practice, and why they matter.

Your team will work alongside people with disability and see the value of an inclusive workplace. They will also experience first-hand what we do to protect the environment and reduce unnecessary waste. Quite frankly, it will blow their minds.

Many teams tell us their day at Good Sammy changes how they view disability employment and what they expect from their own workplace culture. Others leave with a stronger commitment to reducing their environmental footprint.

Accessibility

Volunteering in our warehouse may include tasks such as lifting items and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, we provide a safety induction at the start of the day and schedule regular breaks. Our reuse facilities have been designed with accessibility in mind and we can accommodate a wide range of needs, including wheelchair access. If you require any specific adjustments or support, please let us know before booking so we can tailor your volunteering experience to meet your accessibility requirements.

Getting here

Our Good Sammy Head Office is located at 33 Bannister Road, Canning Vale. There is free on-site parking available for volunteers, including accessible bays close to the entrance. We also have bus stops close by if public transport is needed.

When you arrive, please check in at reception where a staff member will greet you and guide your group to the induction area. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early to allow time for parking and sign-in so your volunteering session can start on time.

If you’re booking transport as a group (such as a minibus), please let us know in advance so we can make sure there’s space for drop-off and parking.

What to wear

For your safety and comfort, we ask all volunteers to wear:

  • Closed-in shoes (no sandals, thongs, or heels)

  • Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little dusty

  • Long pants are recommended for protection

  • If the weather is cold, bring some layers!

We’ll provide any necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves or high-vis vests and masks.

Can we bring clothing donations on the day?

Yes! We strongly encourage your team to bring pre-loved clothing, accessories, or household goods when you volunteer with us. As long as they are in good condition (not ripped, broken or stained), we are happy to accept your donations.

Training programs

We have a variety of nationally recognised traineeships available across our businesses, allowing you to earn while you learn!
